Supper tonight...Taco Pizza! *Recipe Included*

Yum! I love taco pizza. I think I could eat a whole taco pizza all by myself. *Sigh* If only fat, calories and carbs didn't exist. Anyway, I haven't made taco pizza FOREVER so I've decided that I'm making it for supper tonight!

A long time ago when I was kitchenphobic I used to buy premade pizza crusts. Now that I am a domestic goddess (HAHA) I make my own crust. If the thought of making dough sends shivers down your spine...RELAX! This recipe is super easy and your bread machine will do all the work! Ready to get started?

     Pizza Dough Recipe

1 cup warm water
1 t. salt
1 t. sugar
1/4 cup olive or vegetable oil
3 1/4 cup flour
2 t. yeast (or 1 packet)

Place ingredients in bread machine and select the dough cycle. Once cycle is complete remove dough to a floured surface and roll to desired size.

See...wasn't that easy. Next up we're going to make our own sauce. It's almost just as easy!

Pizza Sauce

1 can tomato paste
1 can tomato sauce
1 T. olive or vegetable oil
1 t. salt
1/2 t. sugar
1/2 t. oregano
1 teaspoon chopped garlic (I use the jarred kind)
1/8 t. pepper
1/8 t. red pepper flakes

Mix all the stuff together and you've got your pizza sauce. The tiny amount of red pepper flakes give it a little more flavor without making the sauce hot.

OK...you've got your crust and sauce so lets put it all together and make a taco pizza!

Taco Pizza Directions

Once you have your dough rolled out onto a pizza pan put the crust in the oven for a few minutes to start baking the crust. You don't want to cook it all the way...just give it a few minutes to start to cook.

Pull out the crust and prepare to make your pizza! Open a can of refried beans and spread over your crust. Add pizza sauce to the beans and spread evenly.

Sprinkle the desired amount of cooked hamburger crumbles onto the pizza. You don't need alot of hamburger so this is the perfect way to use any leftover hamburger.

Cover the pizza with your desired amount of mozzarella cheese and place in the oven. Cook until pizza turns golden brown.

Once pizza is cooked it is time to add the toppings! You can top it with any taco like toppings that you like. We top ours with a handful of shredded cheddar, chopped lettuce, tomatoes and crunched up cheese Doritos!

Grab a few slices and enjoy! Be sure to make plenty of this pizza! If your kids are like mine then they'll LOVE it!

So...there you have it. That's supper tonight. Happy Wednesday, everyone!

So...I decided to start a blawg

Yeah, I know...blog is spelled wrong but I think it's more fun to spell it incorrectly. So, what do I plan to talk about on my blawg? Who knows?! Anything, everything...nothing is off topic. I'm pretty sure no one other than me will read this blawg but at least I can get some stuff out of my head that I keep thinking about.
